SIMGUARD ("we," "our," or "the app") is a consumer security and personal-safety application. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app handles, how it is used, where it is processed, and the choices available to you. SIMGUARD is built around privacy by design: the large majority of processing happens locally on your device, and most data never leaves it. This policy does not replace the app's Terms of Service or any limitation-of-liability terms there.
This policy applies to all functionality in the app, whether or not a specific tool is referenced by name. It covers data the app may access, generate, or store while you use it — including data accessed via Android permissions, data you enter, data created by the app (such as alerts, logs, and settings), and data exchanged with optional third-party services you choose to enable.
Depending on which optional capabilities you enable, the app may handle the following categories of data. All sensitive data access is tied to an Android permission you grant and can revoke at any time.
Data is used only for the following purposes:
Data is not used for advertising, marketing profiling, or sale to third parties.
By default, the app processes and stores data locally on your device. This includes content you create or capture, monitored identifiers, alert history, sensor and scan results, location used by safety tools, and any media accessed through optional permissions. Local data is retained on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app. We do not collect, back up, sync, or have access to this on-device data.
Data leaves your device only in narrowly defined situations, and only with your action or configuration:
Outside of these cases, data is not transmitted to us or to third parties.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We do not share personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics networks for advertising or profiling. Limited disclosures may occur (a) to service providers strictly necessary to operate the app or process payments, (b) when you direct the app to interact with a third-party service you have configured, (c) to comply with valid legal process, or (d) to protect the rights, property, or safety of users or the public.
All sensitive permissions are optional. You can grant or revoke any permission in Android Settings at any time. You can disable individual capabilities, clear stored data, export your local logs, and uninstall the app to remove all on-device data. Where a capability requires a specific permission, disabling that permission will disable the capability.
Data stored locally is retained until you delete it, clear app data, or uninstall the app. If you use an optional backend or third-party service (for example, an email digest), retention is governed by the service or provider you have configured. We do not maintain server-side copies of on-device data.
Sensitive on-device data is stored using Android's encrypted storage facilities (such as EncryptedSharedPreferences). Credentials such as API keys you enter are stored locally and used only to communicate with the third-party services you have selected. No security measure is perfect; you remain responsible for the physical and account security of your device.
The app can be used internationally. Where on-device-only processing applies, your data does not cross borders through us. Where you enable an optional third-party service, that service may process data in other jurisdictions under its own terms.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port personal data, and to object to certain processing. Because most data is stored only on your device, you can exercise these rights directly by managing or clearing app data. For data we hold (for example, support correspondence), contact us using the details below.
SIMGUARD is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Paid plans are processed by Google Play (Google LLC). Google handles payment information and subscription state under its own terms and privacy policy (see https://policies.google.com/privacy). We do not receive your full payment card number.
We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
The app provides tools and signals to help you assess and respond to risk. It does not guarantee that any capability will detect every threat, prevent harm, or keep your device, accounts, or person safe. Alerts and scores may be incomplete or incorrect. You remain responsible for your own security and safety decisions. Additional disclaimers may appear in the Terms of Service.
For privacy questions or requests, email secure@simguard.app. You can also use any contact method shown in the app or on simguard.app.
Most SIMGUARD data stays on your device. You can remove it at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling SIMGUARD from your Android device.
If you want SIMGUARD to delete any information we may hold about you outside the app—for example, emails you sent us for support or privacy questions, or records from an optional service we run if you have turned it on—email secure@simguard.app with the subject line "SIMGUARD data deletion request." Include the address you wrote from (if it is not the same as the one you are emailing from) and a short description of what you want deleted. We will answer within a reasonable time and in line with any laws that apply to you.
If you turned on optional tools that use your own API keys or sign-ins with other companies, those companies may hold data you sent them directly. How to delete that data follows their policies; you can also remove or change those keys or connections in the SIMGUARD app whenever you like.
